Ūrubhaṅgam
This is about the fatally wounded Duryodhana at the end of the Kurukṣetra war.
Ūrubhaṅgam is a story that focuses on Duryodhana during and after his fight with Bhīma. This play portrays the breaking up (bhaṅgam) of thigh (Ūru). This story is given in a different light from the representation in Mahābhārata. As per the rules of Bharata a drama must always end in a happy note as Sanskrit does not allow tragedies. However, this can be called the only tragedy drama in Sanskrit. Duryodhana lies wounded with his thighs shattered by the blow of Bhīma. Bhāsa has portrayed a remorseful Duryodhana as he awaits his impending death. It is considered to be a wonderful drama that has no equivalent in Sanskrit literature.
